Behr Paint: Licorice Stick

I received a sample of Behr's, Licorice Stick, from a Behr "pink and red giveaway" contest. I actually forgot about the contest until I received the paint sample. I'm usually not a "red" person, but I love this color... it's a very cheer-y color and is more like a tomato red (in my opinion). I have an old secretary desk that needs a good paint job. Should I try this color on the desk??

Here's the desk... definitely in need of a major redo...

What do you think about Behr's, Licorice Stick, paint color? Do you think it'll look good on this secretary table? If not, what color would?

    1. It was black before and I painted it this gray color when I first got it. Now the color just looks so drab! I'm going to go for it and see how it comes out, thanks!

I've been noodling that color over, and I say GO FOR IT! It's super bold and awesome, yet there is something about it that doesn't shout fire engine, yanno? Cannot wait to see what it looks like painted!!! :D
